I am researching the surname RABE on my father's side. And the surname OGG on my mother's side. The first of these Rabe's, CARL RABE came over from Germany in 1860 and settled in central Illinois (Livingston County) where he began his family.The OGG family began when JOHN OGG and wife MARY immigrated from Scotland in 1752 settling in Orange County, Virginia. His descendants migrated into Kentucky and Tennessee in about 1805. Additional descendants after that migrated up to Illinois in about 1868. More to follow. |
