We have followed our family line to James Martin Walker. He was to have died at the Rock Island POW Camp, in Rock Island Illinois. We cannot find him there. There is a James Martin whose information is the same as our James Walker. It is assumed that men entered the confederacy under assumed names and this James Martin is the same James Walker. We would like information concerning him. He had a son by the name of James Martin (Harvey) Walker who married Amanda Earheart, daughter of Mary (Barton) and J. Hampton Earheart. Mary Barton is the daughter of William Porter Barton, who is the son of Stephen Barton, who is the son of Samuel Barton. Samuel was in the area before Nashville became a town. He signed the Cumberland Compact both times. He moved to Sumner Co., TN, which later became Wilson Co., TN. Any informatioin concerning these individuals would be greatly appreciated.
