Researching RAINERI ancestry that leads back to Linguaglossa, Sicily. My grandfather (William) was born there, June, 1898. He
emmigrated to America in the early 1900's. His parents, Joseph and Egidia, (maiden name: Sgroi), were also born in Linguaglossa.

Other children of Joseph & Egidia were: Rosaria, Josephine, Salvatore, Louisa, Charles, Maria (Mary), & Amelia. William married Stasia Swiencki, from Poland. He and his family settled in Wapwallopen, Pennsylvania. They had 8 children. Most of William's brothers & sisters settled in the Canastota, NY area.
William died in 1948. Stasia, in 1978.

I'M CURRENTLY SEARCHING FOR descendants of William's brother, Sam (Salvatore) Raineri. He was born in Sicily in 1900, lived in NYC and later in Canastota, NY, where he died in 1975. He had 5 children: Joseph, Gilda, Louisa, Caroline and Salvatore.
