Hi! I am researching my family tree. During my efforts, I was fortunate to enjoy the assistance of my mother, Carol Hesper Seibert Nugent, who provided interest, enthusiasm, and family history and wrote letters to additional family members to gather their input. Her cousin Scott Seibert has provided very valuable additions. Our family tree dates to late 1770's and family names include: On my father's side: Rainer (Texas)_On my mother's side: Seibert, Weinel, Stork, Hagebush, MacArthur, Kalaska, Friday, Ferrell, Carr, Baker, Belgrave. We are related to General Douglass MacArthur through my great-great grandfather, Peter MacArthur who was born in Canada. Peter married Harriet Belgrave who was born in England. The MacArthurs are originally from Scotland, but I do not have this specific history yet. The Seiberts hail from Germany. Didrich John Seibert and his wife, Rachael Stork immigrated in 1834 with their son, Peter Seibert. Others born in Germany included: Augusta May Kalaska who married Peter Seibert. Charlotte Baker who married William Hagebush (b. Missouri) on the other side of the family from the Seiberts. As far back as the Carr family goes, I have them in Illinois (late 1700's). Same for Ferrell's - Illinois and possibly North Carolina (?). Weinels go back to Illinois also in the early 1800's. Much of our family resided in Southern Illinois. If you have any contributions, please contact me! Thanks! Trice |
