| LaChance, Labrie: Both the LaChance and Labrie lines start with one man, Antoine Pepin dit Lachance, born in Le Havre, Normandie, France on April 10,1636. With his wife, Marie Teste, they had 12 children. All the LaBries connect to his first son, Ignace. The LaChances start from two other sons, Jean and Joseph. When Joseph's grandson married Jean's great grandaughter the lines merge. Five generations later, along comes Bonnie LaChance. Rainfords: Tom Rainford is working on the documentation from England and found Harriot Strickland's father's Will. They lived in London not Liverpool. They were not tenant farmers; Charles Strickland owned a business. The will clearly names his daughter, Harriot Rainford, wife of George Rainford. Klapperich, Lenz, Rahm: Each of these families passed through Iowa with varying success before some of them homesteaded in South Dakota. The details are better documented in these new files. |
