Descendants of ADAM SIMONTON of Ohio


      6. William2 Simonton (ADAM SIMONTON of1 Ohio) was born Abt. January 1774 in Fourth Creek Community, Rowan County (later Iredell County), North Carolina, and died October 31, 1853 in Loveland, Clermont County, Ohio. He married Mary Shaw June 15, 1797 in Hamilton County, Ohio, daughter of John W. Shaw. She died Bef. 1850 in Clermont County, Ohio.

In the name of the benevolent Father of all I, William Simonton of the County of Clermont, and state Ohio, do make and publish this my last will and testament.

      First, I give and devise to my Daughter Margaret Crosson, one equal eighth part of thirtytwo hundred dollars, being the amount for which John Carson give his bond dated 27th February A.D. 1847 and payable as follows, viz, four hundred dollars in one year from the time of the death of said William Simonton and four hundred dollars per annum thereafter for seven years. I also give and devise to my said Daughter Margaret Crosson one equal seventh part of what real and personal property I may be seized and possessed of at the time of my death after a sufficient sum may be deducted therefrom to pay all my Just debts & Funeral expenses.

      Second, I give and devise to my daughter Eleanor Wilson one equal eighth part of the thirtytwo hundred for which I hold John Carson's bond as above described, also one equal seventh part of the real and personal property that I may be possessed of at the time of my death, after deductions a sum sufficient to pay my debts & Funeral expenses.

      Third, I give and devise to my daughter Sarah Holliday & to her heirs or assigns one equal eighth part of the thirtytwo hundred dollars above specified - also one equal seventh part of the real and personal property that I may be possessed of at the time of my death after deducting therefrom a sufficient sum to pay my Funeral expenses & all my Just debts.

      Fourth, I give & devise to my daughter Elizabeth Spencer her heirs & assigns one equal eighth part of the thirty hundred dollars above specified also one equal seventh part of the real & personal property that I may be possessed of at the time of my death after deducting therefrom a sufficient sum to pay my funeral expenses & all my Just debts.

      Fifth, I give & devise to my daughter, Jane Nixon her heirs and assigns, one equal eighth part of the thirtrytwo hundred dollars above specified, Also one equal seventh part of the real and personal property that I may be possessed of at the time of my death after deducting therefrom a sufficient sum to pay my Funeral expenses & all my Just debts.

      Sixth, I give & devise to my son John Simonton his heirs & assigns one equal eighth part of the thirtytwo hundred dollars above specified, also one equal seventh part of the real and personal property that I may be possessed of at the time of my death, after deducting therefrom a sufficient sum to pay my Funeral expenses & all my Just debts.

      Seventh, I give & devise to William Franklin Simonton, Rhoda Simonton and Adaline Elizabeth Simonton heirs of my son Adam Simonton decd., one equal eighth part of the thirtytwo hundred dollars above specified to be equally divided between said heirs.

      Eighth, I give and devise to my daughter Nancy Stevens one equal eighth part of the thirtytwo hundred dollars above specified , also one seventh part of the real & personal property that I may be possessed of at the time of my death after deducting therefrom a sufficient sum to pay my Funeral expenses & all my Just debts.

      Ninth, I give and devise to my daughter Martha Carson the share she has already had & no more, believing that she has had a full equal share of all my estate both real & personal.

      Tenth, I do hereby nominate William Crosson & George Nixon two of my son inlaws Executors of this my last will & testament hereby authorizing them to collect all money that may be due my Estate & after paying my debts & Funeral expenses & costs of administration to strike in dividend every two years until all moneys are due & collected belonging to my Estate, between my children as set forth in my above will & testament.

      I do hereby remove all former wills, by me aside.

      In Testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand & seal, this fiftenth day of March in the year 1851.
