| Welcome to the RAPER home-page. My family ( RAPER ) are solidly based in Yorkshire and that of my in-laws ( STARR )is Sussex/Kent. The individual families were usually large and tracing individuals very difficult! Other names that regularly show up in my research are: ALLEN, ARMSTRONG, BUCKROYD, DOBSON, DUMBLETON, GIDDINGS, KELLY, KELLEY, LOOM, MURRAY, RAPER, RUDDOCK, SPENCER, STARR, STILLWELL, and WATSON. With places such as MOUNTFIELD, EWHURST, ROMNEY, SANDHURST for the STARR family and PICKHILL, FINGHALL, AINDERBY, BARROWBYE, SCRAYINGHAM and SCARBOROUGH for the RAPER family. I have now moved to the York area just south of Ainderby Quernhow and Pickhill. This, I believe, is where the Rapers originate (Henry b. 1604).
