The Rasmussen family and our ancestors settled in northern Iowa and southern Minnesota in the Rake, Iowa, Kensett, Iowa and Frost, Minnesota area. There are also some of us in Kiester, Minnesota and St. Paul, Minnesota. We were mostly farmers that settled and homesteaded in this area in the middle and late 19th century. We came from Norway and Denmark with some ties to Germany and England. I have been researching this information for 15 years and have learned a lot about where we came from.
