James Henry Bagley Research Home Page

I am researching the Bagley family name. James Henry Bagley left the United States of America and reached the shores of Australia prior to 1857. On his arrival he travelled to the Victorian Colony gold mining town of Beechworth where he remained for the rest of his life "digging" for the elusive metal.
James married an Irish girl "Margaret Jane Ryan" in 1857 and they had seven children. The second child is my great grandfather and out of the seven children over three hundred descendants reside in Australia today.

My quest is to research James Henry Bagley's birth in New York (c1827) and trace his forbearers. His father was John McCombe Bagley, a shoemaker by trade and his mother was Maria Henrietta (nee Beckman). I have no information other than this and seek assistance from any resource.

Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have.
