Amanda Catherine Gains born April 24, 1838 in Tennessee, daughter of Wilson & Catherine Gains, Wilson son of Edward & Susannah ( Wilson )Gains. Amanda married James W. Henson born in La. The family was on 1870 Greene County, Johnson Township, Post Office Big Creek, Arkansas. James W. Henson 45 born La, Amanda C. 31 born Tn, Robert 12 born La, Julia 5 born Mo, Louella 2 born Mo. I don't know when James & Robert died but Amanda C, Julia Ann, Louella Josephene and another son John E were on 1880 Pocahontas, Randolph County, Arkansas census. Amanda was a widow. Julia married 1st Robert Ray Dec 14, 1887, 2nd James R. Pendergrass 14 Feb. 1907, 3rd Will Wess 4 Dec. 1919, 4th George B. Collier 24 Aug 1924. My maternal Grandmother Georgia Anna Sullivan married 1st William Pettigrew issue Bessie Mae Pettigrew, 2nd George W. James,issue Parley Benjiman James & Marley James.Parley married Lilly Taylor. Both buried in Port Mayaca Cemetery, Fl. no marriage found for either one. Marley & 2 other boys were found dead on the Cotton Belt Railroad.

Three of Family Die in One Week.
The hand of death rested heavily on the family of James Pendergrass last week. The family lived in a houseboat and with them lived Mrs. Mandy Henson mother and Grandmother, 77 years of age and Mack and Walter Ray sons of Mrs. Pendergrass. Mrs. Henson died on Monday. Henry the 12 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Pendergrass died Friday the 13th and Mack Ray 15 year old son of Mrs. Pendergrass died the 15th. Each had Pneumonia. The burial of each was in the Masonic Cemetery

Eugene Lee McElroy b. 15 Sep 1925 Duluth, Old Milton Co, Ga, son of Lawrence Alexander & Ollie Mae ( Chadwick ) McElroy. Lawrence was son of Robert Duffie & Margaret Elizabeth (Clark ) McElroy, Robert was son of William & Frances A. (Nash) McElroy,William was born May 17 1830 Bibb Co. Al. He was in Co. B. 44th Alabama Regt. He was a prisoner of war at Appamattox Va. when Lee surrendered to Grant. William was working his way through Ga. after the war met and married Frances Ann Nash. William & Frances are buried in unmarked graves in Yellow River Cemetery, Lilburn, Gwinnett Co. Ga. William son of Willam R. & Mary ( Smith) McElroy; William R. son of Jacob & Mary ( Horn) McElroy; Jacob son of John & Mary McElroy, John son of John & Rebecca ( Sims ) Mc Elroy John son of John & Frances McElroy. John b. 1690 Cecil Co, Md.
