About Our Family Research

February 8, 2000 * * Hello again, time for an update...I have had some success, have found Addie Copeland and Joe and Jennie Copeland. Now I am searching for further information on my paternal great-grandmother Jennie M Shedd. She married Joe (Josiah or Joseph) Copeland January 2, 1881 in Williamson County, Texas. I need background on her if anyone has anything, any help would be greatly appreciated. I have quite a bit of information on the Copelands, who came to Texas from Copeland Cove in Overton, TN. I will be happy to hear from and share with any of my long-lost folks. My husband, Harry, and I live in south central Texas in the rolling hills south of San Marcos. We are both interested in genealogy, though both novices. I am also searching for information on my maternal great-grandfather, Issac Jehu Houston (probably born in the 1860s or 70s in Tennessee). He had one son I know of, my grandfather John William Houston b 03-19-1892, who lived most, if not all of his life, in the Dallas, Texas area. I'm also looking for Earl Roberts (probably born in the 1860s or 70s in Tennessee) who was my other maternal great-grandfather. He had three children I know of: Charlie, who owned a gravel pit in the Dallas area and was financially well-off, Hollis Fair b 12-05-1894, who married my grandfather John W Houston in 1911, and Ethel, who married Melvin Crim. John & Hollis were very active in their church which was Pentecostal.
