| I am researching my grandfathers' ancestry. ALBERT JACKSON HAWKINS. Born Oct 9, 1885, possibly in Cornith,Saratoga County, New York. Married Eva Brown. Lived and died in Lamar County, Texas. Died June 11,1958. ROBERT RAY. Craighead County, Ark. Birthdate unknown. Married Annie Lowe. Died in late 1930s- early 1940s.Since the above was posted I have not been able to find out much about either one of my grandfathers other than the fact that Grandpa Hawkins was a WWI veteran.I have found out that Eva Brown was born to Riley and Delilah Howard Brown in Alma, Arkansas May 22,1904. She had a brother, Clyde Brown, a sister Ludie Brown, and another brother who is a mystery to us.Riley and Delilah were both dead by 1920 since some of their children were in an orphan's home until about 1927. At this time they relocated from Crawford County Arkansas to Lamar County Texas.Eva had the first of her 14 children there in 1919.Grandma Ray's father was supposedly a railroad detective who was killed during a train robbery while she was very young.Found a lot of info on the Ray family in Craighead County Arkansas but am not yet sure if there is any relationship.UPDATE AUG. 18,1997 : Grandma Ray (Annie Lee Lowe) was born in Mississippi in 1895 to Jessie Lowe and Nola Hill.***************************************************************************SURNAMES : BRIM, BROWN, HAWKINS,HILL, HOWARD, LOWE, RAY.***************************************************************************LOCATIONS : Craighead, Crawford, Mississippi, Poinsett Counties in Arkansas.
