Children of Johannes DeWald and Catharina** Reber are:
  i.   Henry Dewald, born Feb 1771 in Windsor Twp., Berks Co, Pa; died Feb 02, 1828 in Muncy Creek Twp., Lycoming Co., Pa; married (1) Catherine Heim Feb 03, 1799 in Stouchsburg, Marion Twp, Berks Co., Pa; born 1782; died Jun 18, 1807 in Windsor Twp., Berks Co., Pa; married (2) Barbara Catherine Koch Apr 1809 in Pa; born May 23, 1782; died Sep 28, 1863 in Muncy Creek Twp., Lycoming Co., Pa.
  Notes for Henry Dewald:
[ldewald3179.FTW]

Immanuel Lutheran Church (Red Brick church):no tombstone found
Henry first moved to Northumberland County around 1810 and shortly thereafter he moved to the Muncy Creek area of Lycoming County. Henry died in a construction accident(drowned) while he was helping with the building of the dam across Muncy Creek(is not there anymore today). Because both of his wives were named Catherine, the genealogy is tricky. There is a deed contract of Henry DeWald to Jacob DeWald made the 19th day of December, 1818 by Henry DeWald of Muncy CreekTwp, Lycoming Co., yeoman, and his wife Catharine, on the one part, and Jacob DeWald of Moreland on the second part. Another reference in the Patent Book reads, "Whereas the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on May 14, 1814, did grant and confirm Henry and Jacob DeWald and their heirs, a certain tract of land situated in Moreland Twp, containing 254 acres...." Henry also sold land to Jacob Fry for $38.95 on 21 Sep 1822. 1800 Census, Manheim Twp., pg 630, 10100-00100 1810 Census, Muncy Creek Twp., pg 808 1820 Census, Muncy Creek Twp., pg 113, 301201-12111(females hard to read) On April 30, 1821, Henry petitioned for appointment of guardian for Betsy(~14), Rebecca, John(17), and Catharine(15) for which the court appointed Jacob Shoemaker, Esq. Family history has it that Henry was the first of the DeWald clan in Lycoming County, as his name appears above in the Muncy Creek Twp. census in 1810.
