In researching our family, I find them from the East Coast to the West Coast and many states in between. The MCEWEN line goes back through Stephen A. McEwen who married Sarah E. Harper 1874 in Carroll Co. GA.His father, Adam A. died in Madison Co., GA when Stephen was young and his mother, Laura (Shell), apparently died between 1870-1880. With his brothers, Melvin Parks & George Luther, Stephen lived near hisgrandparents, George & Sarah L.(HEARN)SHELL in Madison Co. & Campbell Co., GA.Adam A.'s father was Issac McEwen of Madison Co., GA.Alexander McEwen, (died 1827, Oglethorpe Co., GA) is believed to be the father of Issac. The REAVES line can be traced from Stephen Reaves (1772-1830) of Wayne Co., NC through Georgia and into Texas. Thomas Jefferson MCKEE and Robert Eugene HASH, Texas great-grandfathers, need more research as do other lines. MEEK & MITCHELL ancestors can be traced from Iowa back to Ohio.In this line, I am looking for information on Abel MITCHELL of Muskingum Co., Ohio and John Tenant ROGERS (b. NJ ) who came to Iowa. The PIDGEON ancestors begin in Guilford, NC and later establish a Quaker settlement in Salem, Henry Co., Iowa. Ezra Albert ARNOLD had a gold mine in the Jacksonville, Oregon area and we are looking for more information on his parents, James E. Arnold and Elizabeth Long. My LEE & RENFRO ancestors died in Oregon but their ancestors came through MO, KY, MD & VA.Other names in this line are CHEEK, ROLIN, LUTEN, STANDIFER, WATKINS, OWENS, RANDOLPH, and SKELTON. This site is in process so look for some additional information later. If anyone is researching these families, I would like to share and compare information.
