The Family of Theobald Roth, Columbia, PA

In researching the husbands family name of Read, I discovered the name was actually Roth and changed to Read in the early 1800's. Where Theobald Roth came from is still a mystery. He purchased 5 lots at the formation of the Town of Columbia, along the Susquehanna River in Lancaster County in 1788. His family has lived along the Susquehanna River in Columbia and south towards the Chesapeake bay for the past two hundred and eighteen years.

Added recently is information on my mother's family, Martin. How curious it is to find that possibly both my husband and I are Swiss. Time will reveal more information and more information will be updated to this sight.
