I'm mainly researching the "JONES" families from the "UPSTATE of SOUTH CAROLINA" Other famlilies included in this research include:McELREATH-DALTON-TOMPKINS-SKELTON-RISTAU-SAAD-HALE-HUFF-REAM
JOEL R. JONES SR. OR GRANCER JONES 1740/1800 died and buried at sea while in route to America. I haven't been able to find his wife name or the name of the ship they came over on or what port they were coming into. Grancer may mean GRANDFATHER. They came from Scotland and Ireland. There have been conflicting stories as to where their son JOEL R. JONES was born at, it is possible that he was born in NEWBERRY, SOUTH CAROLINA after his mother's arrival to the states, or he may have been born befroe coming here. Would really be interested in knowing how or where to find Joel's mothers name and the ship's name.
