I am researching my father's family, the SHAFERs, particularly the children of Lemuel SHAFER, b. 8 Feb, 1869, d. 15 Mar 1938. This includes Lemuel's wife, Anna Eliza CONWAY and his mother and father, Henry SHAFER and Sarah Sabrina BLACK. The Shafers settled first in Henry, Co., MO and from there, have spread to all parts of the country.

On my mother's side of the family, I am looking for any information on the names TILSON (descended from Stephen b. 1717 in Plymouth, MA), Alvin NORTH, and BURNHAM. Also the names Nicholas CHAPMAN and FIELD in Hamilton Township, Northumberland Co., Ontario, Canada. A great-aunt, Elizabeth CHAPMAN OVENDEN(?) is alleged to have been the lover of King George III's physician (WILLIS) and to have been sent to Canada to live with her brother (Nicholas) to avoid bringing embarrassment to the family still in England. I would love to find information on this woman.

Any help will be appreciated and, of course, I will be happy to share my information.
