The Stan Reaves Family Home Page
I am researching the African-American REAVES family, originally of Dillon County (now Marion County), town of Mullins, South Carolina in the early 1800s, and later also of Robeson County, Durham and other areas of North Carolina in this century.Oldest known ancestor was Putu Gushla, probably a West African Fulani, probably born late 1700s or early 1800s. His children were Moses (b. 1817), Daniel (b. 1819), Celia, Lucinda, William (1846), Elizabeth (1847), Andrew (1851), Jane, and Dan Reaves. Daniel's sons were Eleazer Reaves and Lot Sidney Reaves, born 1849, married to Elizabeth, born 1856. Their children are as follows: Leroy Francis, Illinois, Wesley, Fennie (or Finnie), Mattie, Frosty, John Quincy, Sally, Preston, Bertha, and Jesse. |
