I'm researching the family name of "BRYANT". There are many other spellings of this name such as: Briant, Bryan, Brian.
My line starting with my gg-grandfather on my Mothers side is John M. BRYANT born 7-2-1819 died 1-17-1892 married 3-10-1842 Elizabeth Amanda FISHER born 8-25-1819 died 1-15-1892 buried in the Little River Baptist Church Cem. Level Land Community; Abbeville County, South Carolina. Amanda's Father was Thomas Fisher wife Elizabeth Harris was the daughter of George Harris line.
John had 2 known sons and 2 daughters. Luther Eugene BRYANT wife Margaret Annie TRIBBLE of Abbeville County SC. John Thomas BRYANT wife Jennie M.(McALLISTER) of Cherokee County, SC near Spartanburg and Union Counties, SC.Nancy C. BRYANT born 1851 and died before 1888 and a daughter Carrie Corrine BRYANT born July 3, 1856 died November 7, 1883 wife of Benson JONES one child, Mary Cornelia JONES who married a PRATT.
John Morgan BRYANT was a member at Big Creek Baptist Church as well as Little River Baptist Church. John Thomas BRYANT and Jennie McALLISTER - BRYANT buried Little River Baptist Church Cem, were living in Cherokee County, SC when he died..Death notice listed his children and the palbarrows...
John M. BRYANT had a brother By the name of Simon S. BRIANT wife Susann MAYFIELD dauthter of Battle MAYFIELD (and one daughter Catherine S. BRYANT wife of John W. NALLY son of Barksdale NALLEY)
Simon S. BRIANT and John M. BRYANT also had a sister by the name of Mary BRYANT married Byrd (BS) MAYFIELD also a son of Battle MAYFIELLD.
Simon BRIANT's daughter by his first wife (unknown) was Catherine E. BRIANT wife of Benjamin J. SPEARMAN son of D. D. SPEARMAN. Mahala BRYANT (living with Simon at one point was the wife of David WIMPY their daughter was Mary J. WIMPY. Thomas BRIANT (related) father of Charley BRIANT father of William BRYANT. ...would like more information on Simon S. BRIANT/BRYANT
Possible brother's: Terrell Kirksey BRYANT wife Rebecca and William L. BRYANT (died in Floyd County, Rome GA) wife Clarissa Ann CARWILE (later remarried POSEY). They had 3 know children one of which was William W. BRYANT wife Rufus A. KING, William W and Rufas moved to Texas.
