I am researching my maiden name of Reagin. At this point I have started with Robert Longshore Reagin born January 2, 1814 in Silverstreet, SC. I strongly suspect he was the son of William D. Reagin (January 1775-September 12, 1830) and Phoebe Burdette Burton Reagin (1783-August 18, 1833)of Newberry, SC. I suspect that somewhere between 1830 and 1838 Robert left SC and headed to GA with some of his brothers. They moved to Newton and Rockdale Counties in GA. On March 29th, 1838 Robert married Matilda Watson in Newton County, GA. They are on the 1840 census living in DeKalb County, GA. On September 13, 1845 Robert and Matilda buy land in Cobb County, GA. They sell that land on November 27, 1852 and purchase more land on the outskirts of Powder Springs, Cobb County, GA. Robert and Matilda had five children:
Rebecca Reagin Seawright Born May 4, 1839, Died April 8, 1881 in Powder Springs, GA
Henry Burton Reagin Born September 30, 1840 Died March 7, 1915 in Carrolton, Carrol County, GA
Cynthia Elizabeth Reagin Born December 24, 1841 Died September 20, 1847 in Powder Springs, GA
James Monroe Reagin Born September 15, 1843 Died January 19, 1911 in Stroud, Lincoln County, OK
Sarah S. Reagin Born September 16, 1847 Died May 20, 1879 in Powder Springs, GA

My line is the James Monroe Reagin, but I have worked on filling in the lifes and descendants of all five children. I have met many wonderful cousins and wish to continue meeting more. Please contact me for any information you might need. I am willing to share any information I have.
