Christopher Richter (Rector) Family Tree Home Page
This family tree begins with Christopher Richter, and continues through today (13 generations). We believe that our family started in (what was once) Prussia - a part of Germany. The family can be traced back to Virginia. From there, some went to Tennessee, some to Alabama. We know that Ludwell Lee Rector (born 1799) migrated to Texas from Alabama in the mid 1830's. Ludwell had 4 children - Kenner, John B., Nettie and Lee, jr.Two of the boys (John B. and Kenner) fought in the Civil War.Nettie married a Royston man and Lee (jr) died at a young age while attending VMI after the war. There is a town in Virginia named after our family - RECTORTOWN.There were 13 German families that came to the area (mid 1700's), and one of those was the Richter family.Later, some of them fought in the Revolutionary War for Independance. This group was the first to make iron products in the New America. Some of the ones that moved to Texas fought in the Texas Revolution and are named on the San Jacinto Monument.
