| In 1844, Michael and Bridget (Lowery) Redding sailed from somewhere in Ireland to Canada with their son Michael J. Family legend has it that their son Patrick Andrew was born aboard ship. In 1847 Briget gave birth to my Great Grandfather, John J., in Vermont. In 1850 a daughter, Jane, was born in Ohio. The family finally settled in Pittston, Pensylvania where two other children were born: James in 1853 and Thomas J. in 1856. Bridget was recorded in the 1860 through 1880 U.S. census. Michael Sr. was not. In 1870, Bridget was listed as a Widow. She died in 1882. |
