The James C. Reddick family of N. C. Georgia and Florida

I began researching my family tree in earnest about a year and a half ago. My tree so far begins with my g-g-grandfather, born in Gates County, N.C. in 1823 and lists eight generations to the present time. I believe his family is of Scotch-Irish descent and came to Virginia directly from England/Ireland. On my Mother's side of the family I have been able to go back only to my Paternal g-grandfather and g-grandmother and my Maternal g-grandmother, who was a Cherokee Indian.

My g-g-grandfather moved from his birth location in Gates County, N.C. to central Georgia in 1849 and I have been able to track him quite well from there to the present day. However information on him from N.C. is very sparse so far.
