I am researching the ancestory of Basil Redding and Pearl Ruth Sappington. Surnames in the family include: Redding, Matthews, Sappington & Wilson The Issac Redding family migrated from North Carolina to Johnson County Arkansas where they appear in the 1840 Census. A grandson of Issac, Issac M. Redding, appears in the 1910 Census in McIntosh County, Oklahoma. Issac M. married Alice Matthews in Johnson County Arkansas in the late 1800s. The Matthews appear to have migrated from Tennessee to Arkansas in the early 1800s. Basil Redding was one of five children of Issac M. Redding & Alice Matthews. Basil married Pearl Ruth Sappington in 1931. Pearl's parents were Henry Matison Sappington and Laura Bell Wilson. The Sappingtons moved into Indian Territory in the late 1800s. Later, they farmed in McIntosh County Oklahoma. If you believe you have any information on the Reddings, Matthews, Wilsons or Sappingtons prior to 1840, please contact me. I would be happy to share all information I have. |
