My own family of Redmaynes now live, predominantly, in North Lancashire, around the Preston area but originates from the Thornton in Lonsdale/Ingleton area of the West Riding of Yorkshire. I have traced the direct line back to Marmaduke Redmayne born abt. 1581 and married in Ingleton to Jayne Saylebank in 1607. My research over the last 20 years has been fascinating but, as always, the work still to be done is endless.
It will be interesting to hear from other members of the family and I am always willing to share my notes with interested parties.
