My REED (READE/READ) ancestors have been traced back to Somerset, England. Walter READE my GG Grandfather was born in Upton Noble on 28 April 1846 and married Ann YOUNG (b29 May 1848) on 22 July 1868 at Witham Friary Parish Church.
They moved to the north–east of England circa 1876. Their children were Benjamin William Frank, Jesse , Keziah, Annie, William, Emily and Elizabeth who presented them with not less than 37 grand children.

My own family descend through Ben who married Hannah RITCHIE at Lanchester in Co Durham England on 12 July 1890 and had 8 children.

Walters parents were William and Betsie nee SEVIOUR. We know little of William or Betsie and their ancestors.

Ann YOUNG had five brothers and we believe her father was called Thomas.

Other known names in my line in the north east of England at the moment are
HENDERSON, (Hunstanworth, Consett)
GRAHAM, FOREST, SHORT . (Allendale Town)
ATKINSON (Shincliffe, Page Bank)
RENWICK, Raisbeck (Ferry Hill)
REED (Bishop Auckland)
NAISBITT (Ludworth Colliery)
WRIGHT (New Brancepeth, Durham)

My wife's family names in the Gateshead area of north-east England,
PATERSON, QUINN, BARCLAY, HALBERT, IONS

Any information, help or advice with these names in these areas would be appreciated.
