This trunk was carried by the McPhail family from Scotland to North Carolina in the 1700s. Passed down through the family it was the repository of family papers, deeds, and Civil War letters now being evaluated. It is now in the possession of the son of Mr. Tommy Wellington of Lumberton, NC.
