Reese, son of Henry Reese and Alcy Farmer. He was born December 30, 1858 in Alabama. She married (2) Joseph Leonard Wooten, son of Lorenzo Wooten and Elizabeth. He was born December 18, 1862 in Alabama, and died July 20, 1934 in DeKalb Co., Alabama.

      4. John Thomas Jr² Reed (John Thomas Sr¹) was born July 12, 1860 in South Carolina, and died June 22, 1931 in Ozark, AR Hixon Cemetery. He married (1) Frances (Fanny) M. Reese February 06, 1877 in Fort Payne, DeKalb Co., Alabama, daughter of Henry Reese and Alcy Farmer. She was born October 30, 1860 in Alabama, AL, and died January 17, 1919 in Ozark, AR Hixon Cemetery. He married (2) Elizabeth Adams Aft. 1920 in Ozark, Franklin Co., Arkansas.

      John Thomas Jr lived in Ozark, AR where he owned a Large lot adjoining Highway 64 and Gar creek. We drove around his house on 6/11/92 the place is of good repair, and is still lived-in.

1910-Census shows John Thomas Reed. and Family living on East Mulberry Road (Wallace Township) Ozark, Franklin Co., Arkansas. The second house down that road Lived the Tripp's.
John's son William Pinkney wrote to his Daughter Alta (Toot's) Reed that his Father was Irish & German, and his Mother was Cherokee Indian. He also said that Richard Reed a brother to John Thomas Sr. REED. was married to a Creek Indian. On John Thomas Reed's death certificate Richard was listed as person notified; Their Father was Tom Reed from South Carolina, and Mother was Carolina Pack from South Carolina.

1900-Census AR. John Thomas Reed Born July 1884 in South Carolina. Living in White Oak Township Franklin Co. Ozark, AR. In the early 1930's my sister Genola remembers visiting Richard E. Reed's wife, Aunt Lou's family in Sallisaw, OK They were living on Wild Horse Mountain, outside of Sallisaw, OK.

      J. I. Greers Coffin Ledger, Ozark Arkansas shows that a Coffin was prepared for Mrs. John T. Reed on Jan 18th, 1919.
Fannie was Cherokee Indian according to a letter written to Alta (toot's) Reed by her Son William Pinkney Reed on Thursday 17 October 1963.

Marriage record found in Ozark court house married Martha E. Swearingin October 27, 1888

Talked with William P. Reed's Daughter-in-law, David Lester Reed's wife in VanBuren AR 06/11/1992. She and David bought and lived in John T. Reed's house in Ozark in 1932. Said that she remembers all the boy's of John T. Reed, and that they paid $300.00 for the house; $50.00 for each of the five Boys and Minnie Lee their only Daughter. They later moved to Vanburen where she presently lives.

6. Richard E.² Reed (John Thomas Sr¹) was born April 15, 1870 in South Carolina, and died February 03, 1933 in Sallisaw, Sequoyah, Co. Brent Twsp., OK. He married Louisa J Gibson October 18, 1894 in Ozark, AR, daughter of James Gibson and Minerva Howard. She was born December 28, 1876 in Webb City, Franklin County, Arkansas, and died April 04, 1945 in Sallisaw, Sequoyah, Co., Brent Twsp., OK.

Richard E. Reed was named as informant on John Thomas Jr. Reed's death certificate (6/22/1931), at that time he was living on Wild Horse Mountian near Salisaw OK. Genola Reed remembers visiting aunt Lou in Salisaw during her childhood, Says that Aunt Lou was full blooded Indian.

AR 1900 census shows Richard having a mother (Nancy 09-1836) age 74 born in South Carolina living with his family. At this time they were living in Franklin Co. Wallace Township Ozark, Arkansas.

OK 1910 Census Sallisaw, OK (Sequayah Co) living there in Sallisaw with additional Children plus a Neice Ethel Gibson, age 13 living in his household. Mother (Nancy) not listed.

OK 1920 Census Sallisaw, OK viewed today 31 May 1995, shows three additional Children born to Richard and Lousia. The older four children namely Stella, Mary, Manervia, and Richard G. plus the neice Ethel Gibson are now departed from the household. Will try to return at a later date, to look for marriage records for them.

Richard E. Reed died February 03, 1933 in Sallisaw, Sequoyah, Co. Brent Twsp., OK, His death certificate notes that his Father was John Thomas Reed, and Mother was Geneva A. Pack. This mother is not in accordance with the 1910 Census showing mother (Nancy 09-1836) age 74.

Louisa J. Gibson's parents were full blooded Cherokee Indian, according to a desendant Phil Slate.
