Have 3 obit's. 10th, 11th, and 15th. of Aug. 1967. Info. from obit. in the 11 Aug 1967 Wash. IA Evening Journal: Rose was a 1903 graduate of Washington High School and attended the Washington Academy. She worked in her early years as a hat trimmer in a local millinery store and later in several other cities. She was a dedicated civic worker, having served as president of the Wash. County Improvement league 1919-1920. She was chairwoman of the finance committee for the Wash. Memorial Fountain Foundation, and served as roll call chairman of the county Red Cross and she held positions in the Fortnightly Club, and Republican party. Rose was well known by the Masonic Order of America, her pet project being the Order of Eastern Star. She organized the Order of the Rainbow for Girls in Wash. She joined the White Shrine in 1912 and served in various offices until in 1935 she held the highest international shrine office, that of Supreme Worthy High Priestess. During her tenure of office she visited 400 shrines, traveled extensively. It was during this time the National Rose M. Reid Club was formed, its object the prevention and cure of blindness in children and other charities.
