Frances Severson's obituary read:
"Frances Leora Paulson, 83, formerly of the Lake Norden area, died Thursday, April 11, 1996, at the McKennan Hospital Hospice (Sioux Falls, SD just 10 days after her birthday).
Frances Severson was born April 1, 1913, in Badger (South Dakota). After her mother's death, she lived with her grandparents in the Erwin area until age 9, and then lived with her father in Erwin. She attended school there and worked in a grocery store and a cafe. She later moved to Badger and worked in the cafe.
She married Art Paulson of Badger on Aug. 22, 1936, in South Bend, Indiana. They farmed (8 miles) north of Arlington until 1957, when they moved to Lake Poinsett (South Dakota). Her husband died in 1972, and she moved to Lake Norden in 1993. She moved to Sioux Falls in February 1996 because of health problems.
Survivors include one son, Loel of Brandon (her only child and his wife Joan); four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and before services Monday at Johnson-Henry Funeral Home in Arlington (South Dakota)."

"Services were held Monday, April 15, 1996 at the United Cemetery in Arlington, South Dakota. Clergy was John Jacoway. Pallbearers included Lonnie Paulson (grandson), Richard Walvatne (family friend), Clinton Nielsen (nephew), Jay Holtz (grandson-in-law), Idor Severson (cousin) and Curtis Nielsen (nephew). Burial is at the United Cemetery in Arlington, South Dakota.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Wilma; and a brother, Roy.
Frances will be missed by her son, Loel Paulson and his wife Joan, of Brandon, SD; four grandchildren: Jodie Holtz and Lorrie May of Sioux Falls, Lonnie Paulson and Jeanette Paulson, both of Phoenix, AZ; three great-grandchildren: Shannon and Adam Holtz and Brittany May; and many caring friends."
