| I am researching the history of both my mother and father' s families. I spend most of my time on the Davis and Abbott lines. Samuel J. Davis was born 1834/35 in Yalobusha, Mississippi, parents born in Tenn., and appeared in Bexar, Karnes and Gonzales counties from 1852 until his death in 1891. He had one brother, Marcellus Blanton Davis (Born ALA. 1830), killed in the Civil War(1862 or 1864). Abbott's (John and Charles Daniel) were from Little Falls, NY around 1830..moved to SE Tenn.
