Descendants of Christian Remick Who Settled in Vermont, Part I

Generation No. 1

1. JOHN MORGARIDGE5 REMICK (SAMUEL4, TIMOTHY3, JACOB2, CHRISTIAN1) was born June 10, 1766 in Newbury, Massachusetts, and died Abt. 1805 in Concord, New Hampshire. He married DOLLIE HIBBARD November 15, 1790 in Ryegate, Vermont, daughter of JOSEPH HIBBARD and HEPSIBAH SAWYER.

Notes for JOHN MORGARIDGE REMICK:
John's father, Samuel, died in the Revolutionary War in 1778, and it it quite possible that his widow, Ann, remarried and moved north to NH or VT, taking her three sons with her. The sons, John, Isaac, and Simeon were ages twelve, ten, and seven respectively at the time their father died.
John M. Remick's in-laws likewise moved to Vermont from Methuen, MA. He was living in Ryegate, VT when the 1790 Census was taken. He then had in his family one male over 16, none under, and one female (i.e. himself and his wife). There was a John Remick in Groton (near Ryegate), Caledonia County, VT in the 1800 Census.

Children of JOHN REMICK and DOLLIE HIBBARD are:

  i.   JOHN6 REMICK, b. July 19, 1791, Ryegate, Vermont; d. Unknown.

  Notes for JOHN REMICK:
John Remick is said to have gone to live with an uncle in New York, and was never heard from again.

  ii.   SALLY REMICK, b. Abt. 1793; m. JOSEPH ROBENSON, March 15, 1809.

2. iii.   ISAAC REMICK, b. May 06, 1795, Ryegate, Vermont; d. October 11, 1879, Dublin, New Hampshire.

3. iv.   SIMEON REMICK, b. August 16, 1798, Groton, Vermont; d. December 24, 1869, Littleton, New Hampshire.
