RENICK NATIONAL REUNION 2009 ~ See Link at bottom of Page

Renick is my married name, and my husband researches the Renick line. There is some information here about the Renicks, and you can Email him at Tom.Renick@mailmt.com for more information on the Renick line.

Back to the early 1800's, my roots lie primarily in what was Virginia and is now West Virginia. I have gathered information on over 20,000 people connected to my lines, and who lived mostly in the central and northwestern counties of West Virginia.

A few of my pioneer family names are BOGGS, CALLISON,CHEUVRONT, CONNOLLY, DEWEES, DOTSON, ELSWORTH, ENOCH, FOULKE, FRANKS, GREATHOUSE, HINKLE, HYLBERT, LOCKHART, MCCLUNG, MCCUTCHEON, MCDADE, SAYRE, SPRAGUE AND THORN.

1) "Renick Pioneers",
2) "Richard Dotson (1752-1847) and his Descendants",
3) "Greathouse Family History" and
4) Link to download "Dotson Land Grants".

1) RENICK PIONEERS

(Copy and paste link or click link at bottom of this page)

2) RICHARD DOTSON (1752-1847) AND HIS DESCENDANTS
James M (Jim) Dotson and Barr Wilson worked together in 1992 to create the most definitive 400+ page publication about the descendants of Richard Dotson born 10/23/1752.

There are two versions of this book on this site. Under the "Related Files" section, there is a word document for those who are on dial up and cannot download the full version with photos. The full version which is about 9 mb can be downloaded from the "Related Links" section. It is the complete original book with photos. You can go to the related links section or use this link http://home.att.net/~sy13/sitemap_files/Richard_Dotson.pdf

Barr Wilson died in 2000, and Jim died in 2006. Both will be greatly missed. Barr also prepared hundreds of other manuscripts on early families who settled in the Doddridge & Ritchie County areas of WV.

3) DOTSON LAND GRANTS
James M Dotson wrote this book after doing extensive research regarding land owned by Richard Dotson b. 1752 and his descendants. This is an excellent research tool. This file is very large so wait for it to download. You can download it or view it. Link is in related links section or you can find at: http://home.att.net/~sy13/dotsonlandgrnts.pdf

James "Jim" Dotson generously contributed all of his Dotson research to help others find their roots.

NOTE: If you are a descendant of Richard Dotson b. 10/23/1752
in Shenandoah Co VA, contact me Betty.Renick@mailmt.com for an invitation to a MyFamily site for his descendants. This site contains the entire book mentioned above including photos and maps. And 7 years of shared photos, documents, research and much more.

4) GREATHOUSE FAMILY HISTORY Jack Murray Greathouse wrote this in the 1950's as a manuscript. I have used his information and other materials to prepare more information in the related files section under "Pioneer Greathouses". If you are a descendant of John Greathouse born 1778 who married Sarah McDade, you can contact me a Betty.Renick@mailmt.com for an invitation to a private MyFamily site that has photos and information about this line.
