Samual Talcott (son of John Talcott and Dorothy Mott) was born 1635 in Hartford, Hartford County, CT, and died November 10, 1691 in Weathersfield, Hartford County, CT. He married (1) Hannah Holyoke on November 17, 1662. He married (2) Mary on August 06, 1679.
Notes for Samual Talcott: Samuel (Captain) Talcott from 1670-1684, Deputy to General Court of which he was the Secretary in the absence of Colonel Allyn during October Session of 1684. On May 16, 1675 he was appointed one of a standing committee to order measures and dispose of such affairs as shall be necessary to attend to in the intervals of General Court. May 12, 1667, confirmed Lt of Wethersfield Trained Band, October 14 1679, Lt. of the Troop, October 16,1681 Captain of th Troop of Hartford County. From 1683 except during Andro's Administration, was Asst until his death. Captain Samuel Talcott was one of the original proprietors of the town of Glastonbury, CT. and owned the lot which was pruchased by his father in 1643 of Samuel Serman and Richard Gildersleeve being 44 rods wide running back from the river 3 miles to the great wilderness. It is still owned by his descendants. He was the scholar of the family and to him, his dad bequeathed all hes books except his "Martyr Book" which he gave to his son John. From Samuel and John are the desceded all of the name Talcott in America.
