1. Obituary, NY Herald Tribune newspaper, p. 27 April 20, 1949, William G. Hills, first advertising credit manager of the New York Tribune, who retired in 1946 after fifty-eight years with The Tribune and The Herald Tribune, died Monday at his home, 3164 Grand Concourse, the Bronx, at the age of 77. He joined the Tribune in 1888 as a music reporter and editor of music notes, became a make-up man and editor of automobile trade notes and was appointed advertising credit manager during the first World War period. A brother, James Hills, survives.

Surviving are a son, Walter, here; a daughter, Mrs. Marion Hammargren, Peel, Ark., seven granchildren and four great grandchildren. The Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements."

(Agnes) Herlihy, 64, are pending with Dennis-Nelson Funeral Home. She died Tuesday night at the family home, 131 Harvard. In addition to her widower, Mrs. Herlihy is survived by two sons, Robert D. and William F., both of Las Cruces; one sister, Mrs. Jane Mott, Whitestone, N.Y., and one brother, Foster Drake, Hempstead, N.Y. The Herlihy's have lived here since moving to Las Cruces from Virginia in 1950. Mrs. Herlihy was a retired government worker, having been last employed at White Sands Missile Range. Her widower is also a retired government worker."
