5. LOUISE⁴ BOWLES (THOMAS PHILLIP³, JOHN², THOMAS PHILLIP¹) was born Abt. 1842, and died June 07, 1896 in Round Grove, Mo. She married JOHN SANFORD BOWES.

Notes for LOUISE BOWLES:
Louise BOWLES married John Sanford BOWLES, son of John P. W. BOWLES. Their children's names appear in the record of her husband. Their marriage has an interesting touch in that he was engaged to a fine young woman of their community; guests were assembled, the wedding banquet spread when he suddenly went by Louise's house and she had retired and proposed that they go immeidately & be married. In the meantime, he waiting bride-to-be's family decided to go for the missing groom for an explanation; when presented it has been told he asked her what she would think if he said "he was already married." What the unhappy bride-to-be's fortune came to, the writer knows only that her disappointment and no doubt chagrin was understandably intense. WhileSanford & Louise's life was harmonious, their way was rugged and deplete of many comforts. John Sanford was a farmer and stockraiser in the Round Grove, MO vicinity for many years. In earlier life, he and his brothers Bruce & Henry first went to Colorado before Denver was much more than a wide place in the road. The two brothers, Bruce & Henry remained in CO., but Sanford returned to MO and lived a good many years before going back to Hudson, CO. where he passed away and is buried near the town of Hudson. 6. BENJAMIN FRANKLIN⁴ BOWLES (JOHN LONGDON³, JOHN², THOMAS PHILLIP¹) was born June 11, 1840 in AR, and died June 03, 1903 in Desdemona, Eastland Co., TX. He married ELIZABETH TRIMBLE April 24, 1859 in Lawrence Co., MO, daughter of THOMAS TRIMBLE and EUNICE ROGERS. She was born June 22, 1842 in Edgar, IL, and died December 22, 1924 in Gorman, Eastland Co., TX.
