I am researching the REYNOLDS and BUMGARNER families from Hardy County and Hampshire County, West Virginia areas, respectively. John William REYNOLDS (1824-1904) first married Sarah Jane BUMGARNER (ca. 1829-1869), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel BUMGARNER. John, Sarah and family moved to the Lafayette County, Missouri area some time around 1860. Sarah died in 1869 and John married Sarah's half-sister, Rachael Frances BUMGARNER (1850-1916). Altogether, John fathered 14 children.
George Washington REYNOLDS (ca. 1822-1868), John's brother, married Louisa Jane WISE (1826-1903). "Wash" and family also moved to Lafayette County, Missouri area about 1862.

I am also researching the BARTON family which came to the U.S. from Ireland. Isaac Barton (16-- - 1721) married Sarah Vesey in Tipperary Co., Ireland in 1705. They moved to the U.S. Grandchild was the Rev. Isaac Barton (son of Joshua Barton & Jane DUBART Barton) who was a preacher in East Tennessee. A sister, Sarah Barton, married Rev. William MURPHY. Sarah later was credited with starting the first Sunday School classes West of the Mississippi. David BARTON, son of Rev. Isaac Barton and Keziah MURPHY Barton, was President of the Missouri Constitutional Convention and one of the first two U.S. Senators from Missouri.
