The Harmes Family of Iowa and Ohio was large according to family talk. Laura Melvina Harmes was one of 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls, all of the boys died in infancy in Iowa. The 4 girls all ended up in Port Clinton, Ohio near their parents John Theodore Harmes and Hester "Hettie" Floro Harmes. John died in 1920, Hettie in 1934. John had brothers and possibly sisters in Iowa.
I am looking for any relative of John Theodore.

I am also looking from infomation on Daniel Dryden from Western Ohio. He was married to Jane Smith and had only one child that I know of, Clifford S. Dryden b. 1869 or 1870. Clifford was born in Virginia or Dayton, OH but later resided and died in Toledo, OH. Daniel Dryden and Jane Smith seem to be common names. Family history said that Daniel and Jame came from England to Virginia to Ohio. Other information suggests that they were both born in Ohio.

Dryden Family of Ohio, circa 1860
Gertz Family of Ohio, circa 1860
