The Rhett Family, 1694-present
This is a work in progress tracing the Rhett family that came to America in the person of Colonel William Rhett, arriving in Charleston, South Carolina in 1694 from England. Not all tree information is entered yet, but some branches are complete to the present. As of the beginning of 1999 we have about 400 names in the tree, tracing back to Colonel William Rhett(1666-1722). Most research has been done at the South Carolina Historical Society in Charleston. In summer 1999 further research will be done in England and Holland tracing the family back through William's father, Sir Walter of the Hague. |
