| I have done considerable research on the Poissant, Schmidt, Malaney, LaBombarde, LaVoix, Arena and Merritt lines. The families are from Whitehall to Clinton Mills, New York, the Plattsburgh, New York area and Burlington, Vermont. I have traced the Malaney line to the 1850 Clinton County, New York Census. They immigrated from Ireland. The Merritt ancestors were born in France, immigrated to England and then to Connecticut. Merniva Merritt married Abram Curtis and their daughter married James Malaney. Curtis Lord Malaney Married Emma LsVoix whose ancestor was a Count in France and fled to Canada during the French Revolution. The Arena ancestors are from Sicily. The Schmidt line (my grandfather) came from Germany and I can find no record of his parents. The LaBombarde line are direct descendants of the Duc de la Bombarde de la Bombardier. I can only trace this branch back to 1849 in Plattsburgh, NY. I would appreciate any help on the LaBombarde line. |
