Notes for MAURICE HARVILLE:
Personal Memo: March 12, 2001 Ernestine and I spent an hour visiting with Maurice in the nursing home in Port Neches, Texas. He was quite alert, but was bedridden. Talked about Opal and Lee, and had several stories about them. Said that he remembered Willie and Lela Rhoden well, and that he remembered how much Willie respected and loved Aunt Lela. Said he had fond memories of them at the dinner table; when Willie was ready to eat, he just said "Pray Lela," so they could start their meal. His name at the nursing home is Coye Harvill. Check on that.

Cecil was known by almost everyone as Peg. He added Devere to his name (or
maybe it is the other way around; his name was Devere and he added Cecil).
George Oscar and Mary Viola did not give middle names to any of their
children.

His remains were cremated in Denver and his ashes were buried in Camp Ruby
Cemetery, Polk County, Texas.

Aunt Aveline (85) died from an aneurysm in her stomach on Monday,
February 22, 1999. Uncle Lee died of a blood clot in his lung on Wed.
Feb 24, 1999, at 10:30 p.m. Both were in the hospital in Houston.
Funeral in Dayton (outside Crosby and Liberty), TX. Will be buried in
cemetery in Dayton. Willis, their son, lived at Liberty at the time,
which is one reason they were not buried with their child. As of
2/25/99, they were trying to have a joint funeral, but if he could not
be prepared in time for the funeral at 2:00 on 2/25, they would later
have graveside services for Lee.

Aunt Georgia died Monday night at 7:42 [8-23-99]. Melba called me today
about noon. She was at home with a LVC nurse. Melba and Johnny had left
about an hour before she died. Melba said they had just got home when the
nurse called and said she was gone. It was a blessing because she couldn't
even get out of bed and was just lying there. Melba said she asked God to
take her because she did not have any quality life and she wouldn't have
wanted that. They are having memorial for her in the morning and then they
are taking her to the valley (Harlingen) have a graveside service and bury
her next to George. She had been failing for several days and in the last
few months had been in the hospital, nursing home, and her apartment. Said
they just went from one to the other. The Rhoden cousins are trying to get
together a CD so the interest can be used keep up the cemetery. So Melba
said don't send flowers send a memorial to Lynda Maryilyn in memory of
Georgia and we would add it to the CD and maybe we could get one big enough
to take care of the Rhodens part. Aunt Georgia was 83 years old. She was
born in 1915. That made Mother 8 years old when she was born. So far Mother
was the oldest when she died. There is just Bobbie and Willis left now. We
have really lost them in a short time. It is rather scary isn't it? Love
Mom
