OBITUARY:

MRS. JOHN WELLBROCK, 90, PASSES AWAY AT ROWENA

      Mrs. John Wellbrock, Sr. (nee Gerken), 90, of Rowena, died Sunday, May 2, at 8:30 a.m. at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wellbrock, where she was much loved and well cared for.
      Mrs. Wellbrock, born Dec. 4, 1857, came to this country from Germany in 1894. She settled first in Washington County near Brenham, then moved to Falls county at Otto. She later went to West Texas, living in Paint Rock, Ballinger, Lowake, San Angelo and Rowena.
      Funeral Services were held Tuesday, May 4, at Veribest, with her pastor, Rev. Lewis Pabor, officiating at the funeral home in Ballinger. She was a faithful member of her church, the Lutheran congregation at Eola.
      Survivors include Mrs. F.W. Schmidt, Mrs. George Finn, Mrs. Robert Schroeder, Mrs. Fred Wiebusch and Willie Wellbrock, all of Riesel; Mrs. Gordie Sullivan of Marshall, Klaus Wellbrock of Brenham and Herman Wellbrock of Rowena. Her husband died in April 1941. There are 34 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
      Pallbearers were John and Edmund Wellbrock, Fred and Lawrence Roeder, Milton Wiede and Raymond Sullivan.
      Those from Riesel attending the funeral were Mrs. F.W. Schmidt, Mrs. George Finn, Mrs. Fred Wiebusch and daughter, Margaret.
