| I am researchig my genealogy with a special interest in the surname RHOADES (RHOADS, RHODES). William A.(S.) RHOADES (RHOADS)was born in 1830 and lived in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He apparently followed a Quaker wagon train west and married a Cassander RHEIFF in Iowa. He returned to Indiana and served in the Civi War. After the war they moved to Caldwell, Kansas in about 1870, along with a brother and cousin who later moved to western Kansas. Other relatives remained in Indiana. In addition I am researching the surname PARKINSON. A James PARKINSON was born in 1806 in Pennsylvania. He married a Christne HOY (parents George and Elizabeth HOY)in Pennsylvania. Later they moved to Berreman Township Illinois. Ason George moved to LeMars, Iowa. Also I am interested in the surname FABLINGER from Hanover, Illinois. George and Margaret (POPE) FABLINGER were originally from Hagerstown, Maryland. A son Lewis FABLINGER married Rebecca WEIR in Illinois. Her father was Thompson WEIR and her mother was Sarah MOSSMAN. They also lived in the Woodbine, Illinois area during the early to mid 1800s. Lewis FABLINGER was the last living Civil War veteren in Illinois, died in 1948. Any information regarding any of these surnames would sincerely be appreciated and I would be most happy to share information that I might have. Thank you. |
