I am researching our family ancestors. You can find information about the Rhodes/Whalen family on Volume 2 #4728 of the Family Tree Maker CD collection. For updated information contact me at the address below.
I am particularly interested in finding information about Henry Rhodes who lived in Buncombe County, North Carolina in the late 1700's. His wife's name was Susan - they were said to have had 8 children, but we know only 5 of there names Jess, Fatia, Mary, David (b. 1791) and Charlie (b.1794).

I am a descendant of David Rhodes who married Winnaford Chesser in 1812 in Warren County Tennessee. We have hundreds (thousands?) Of names on this side of the family. We also have a fair amount of information on Charlie Rhodes and his descendants.
The Rhodes Family moved from North Carolina to Missouri and Tennessee. Later they moved further West and many now live in Oklahoma, Texas, and California.

The Whalen family is from Ireland. Michael Whalen was born in 1829 and died in 1901. He married Ellen McDermott McDonald. Their children were Clement Vlandingham (b. January 13, 1862), Ellen (b.1866), Mary (b. 1868) and Daniel. They lived for some time in Chicago.

We have a lot of information about the descendants of Clement Whalen but nothing about Ellen, Mary, and Daniel's families.

We do know that Michael came to the United States in the 1840's with a twin brother.
