This project was started late one night in 2000, while my son was ill and sleeping. I worked the graveyard shift so I was home wide awake. I began looking up information on my closest relatives. I started off not knowing very much about who my ancestors were, or where they were from. Now I have over 300 names in my ancestory list and more hopefully to come. I became very excited when I discovered that through the Farrington Line of the family thatI was related to King William "The Conqueror" of England and all the way back through the Vikings to the King of Finland in the year 500 (Just call me "Your Majesty"). Thanks to members of my family and Ancestory.com I was able to do all of this.
03/26/2006 My Mom Diana and I are in Abilene Kansas and we are researching the family on the Vickers side. We have found the graves of Alonzo L. and his wife Sarah, and his father Lorenzo who is buried in Solomon, Kansas. We found lots of additional information, and even met the Coup family who are relatives living in Abilene Kansas. They are related from Alonzo Vickers daughter Harriet. It was great to meet them.
08/07/2006 My Mom Diana passed away on this date from Ovarian Cancer. She was so excited when I started doing my family research and is a big reason why I was so successful. Love you Mom, say hi to all the relatives for me. xoxoxo
02/04/2007 My Great Uncle Kirby (Charles E. Rhodes) died of Lung Cancer this date. He was in Chattanooga, TN.
April 2008 My Aunt Sue passed away from bone cancer this month. Sue's daughter (my Cousin Jody) also passed away from cancer Dec 2008.
I have received information on my Paternal lineage and it is located on Ancestry.com under The Rhodes Family. It traces the Rhodes name back to the Channel Islands in 1600's.
Enjoy! Rick Rhodes
PS. When you open the Interne Tree, right click your mouse on my name and select primary person and you will see the rest of the family tree. If you want to see detailed information, go to index of individuals and then click on them to see a photo if available and their info.
