Thomas' grave is near the Lyne family plot in the Old Carlisle Cemetery, but the connection to the family has yet to be determined. His father was Lt. William B. Lyne (married to Elizabeth Veale)10 June 1829 in Portsmouth VA. William fell from the old USS Pennsylvania and died 29 April 1841. A monument to him is in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Portsmouth. As Thomas was born in 1831, it is assumed (but not definitely established, that these are his parents.
