1. Julius A. "Boss" Bayless, born Aug 26, 1887 in Cassandra, Walker Co., GA¹; died Apr 09, 1973 in Mexia, TX.². He was the son of 2. William Clinton Bayless and 3. Harriet Wise. He married (1) Alma Hudson 1908 in TX. She was the daughter of Robert Samuel Hudson and Ann Elizabeth Bennett.

Notes
Boss was a boiler inspector. He studied his trade at Tulane University in New Orleans; therefore, he is often described as having had a "college education". He traveled over much of central and east TX on business and moved many times. The family lived in Coolidge, Malone, Abilene, Sweetwater, Datura, Sagerton, Houston, etc. He retired in Mexia and considered Limestone Co. his home.

He was a excellant furniture maker and had a shop at his home in Mexia. He made ladder back chairs with rope seats, bedsteads, toys, etc. He was known to give handmade rolling pins as wedding gifts for the bride so that she might keep the groom in line. He was also a farmer and the manager of a cotton gin and at one time served as a deputy sheriff of Datura, TX. After his retirement, he raised watermelons which he generousely gave away to the citizens of Mexia. He was proud of having been born in GA and traveled there at least twice to see his old home in Walker Co. He was a kind and generous man who loved people and was well known and well liked wherever he lived.

Boss is buried in the Old Armour Cemetery in Coolidge, TX.

		iv.		James Crawford "J.C." Bayless, born Nov 03, 1915; married Audine Regan May 18, 1934 in Tahoka, TX.
		v.		Mildred Lucille Bayless, born Mar 08, 1919 in Coolidge, TX.; died Jun 27, 1995 in Beaumont, TX; married Lester Ribling Oct 17, 1942 in Houston, TX.⁴.
		vi.		Edith Christene Bayless, born Feb 21, 1924 in Datura, TX.
