Chris and Allison Richter's Genealogical Adventure
We're trying to make up for lost generations of research - just in time for our first child's birth.Call it a multi-year gift for her... On my side, I've got a huge undertaking - all deceased or very out of contact. My grandfather, Vivian (Craig) RICHTER, came over from South Africa in the middle of this century. His family was several generations deep there, presumably marrying into the Boer RICHTERs, and there were French MARAIS back down that line, which goes first into the UK as well as Scotland, with the MCNEILLs.His wife was Leora ALTMAN, and I believe her family was settled in New England and Ohio since the Revolution. My mother's family is all southern - mostly Alabama and Mississippi:MILNE and WALTERS, to get us going. My wife's is easier. We believe her families can be traced to the Plymouth Rock crew and are mainly from the Carolinas.ROBBINS (NC) and COFFEY are our main concerns, but we also are looking for information on SHORE and BENFIELD in relation to those families and probably located in NC. Any assistance in this mammoth task would be GREATLY appreciated... | Chris and Allison Richter's Genealogical Adventure Updated September 5, 2000 |
