  Notes for POLLY ANN GEORGE:
Patty

found an interesting marriage entry today.

Elisha Meadows married Polly Ann Gray on Sept 14, 1846. in Foyd County,
Kentucky

Looks like the Mary living next door to Robert Moody George could be his
sister. Since she did not remarry until 1846 she would still have
beenPolly Ann gray in 1843 when her mother Jane wrote her will.

The Census film is a little hard to read, but the Elisha was very clear,
the Surname started with an M and had a "d" in it. I had put down Medan
with a big question mark after it.

My entry for the Polly Ann George to Samuel May marriage is from a
written ist of marriages of Floyd county Kentucky for 1808 to 1875. It
could be possible that it should have been Samuel Gray and not May if it
was a hard entry to read.

born in Floyd County

15 Feb 1877Jeff D. Y. Thornsberry, son of David Thornsberry and Martha
jane Gray, parents born in Floyd County ky

14 June 1877 Emah Gray, daughter of Samuel Gray and Anie, Mosley,
parents born in Floyd co, Ky.

If this is the Gray line from Polly George it is interesting that Joseph
would have named his daughter after his Grand Mother Martha Jane George

1850 index also looked to see if there was any Grays listed. There was
only one for floyd Co, Joseph Gray, in the same page area as our Robert
M. George. Wrote down the information on Robert M George's household he
was next to last household on page 464, listing for Gray was on page
465. This is where I got my surprise. The page broke the household in
two, so it really started on page 464 and was the next household to
Robert M George. It listed Elisha Maden? (hard name to read) age 37
born in Va with his wife Mary age 43 born in south Carolina has a
daughter Nancy age 12, ather daughter maybe clarissa age 10 hard to read
and then a son Alexander age 5, here the page breaks and the next two
lisitngs are Joseph Gray age 22 and Jane Gray age17. What do you
think,I know it is not proof, But could this be Robert m George's Sister
Polly with a second husband.......
