(Now deceased, family members reported that this section of the family came from "little Washington".)
I found these articles in an old Tioga County Newspaper; Tioga Eagle: To The Honorable, The Judges of the Court of Quarter Session of Tioga County of March Term A.D. 1842. The Petition of Jacob Bellman of the Township of Bloss, respectfully sheweth that he is well provided with the necessary house room and sabling for the accommodations of strangers and travelers - and other conveniences for keeping a house of Public entertainment at his old stand in the Township of Bloss in said County, by the [?] [?] Honors to grant him a license at this time to keep a Tavern and house of Public Entertainment at said place [?] your petition as duly sworn and ever pray S.C. by his mark / Jacob Bellman. 1844 6 MAR Tioga Eagle Newspaper: "KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS" That I, Jacob Bellman have this day transferred all my Real and Personal property unto John Bellman and Sarah Bellman, for and in consideration of a comfortable support for myself and my wife Charlotte Bellman, during our natural lives, at the house and table of said John and Sarah Bellman. And I do hereby forbid all persons harboring or trusting her, the said Charlotte on my account as I am determined to pay no debts of her contributing after this date. I also forbid any person or persons selling or conveying in any way, any kind of [?] [?] to me & Charlotte, under the penalty which may ensue. Jacob Bellman, Bloss Twp. Feb. 1, 1844
